Engineering a Way Home

Manual demining is slow and very dangerous. To help communities get their land back faster, Armtrac has created strong, armoured vehicles for tough post-conflict areas. With remote-control technology, our machines take on the risky work. 

Here are two examples of how our machines help turn dangerous land back into usable ground.

The Armtrac 400: The Heavyweight Professional

The Armtrac 400 is our flagship demining vehicle and one of our most popular solutions. It is a powerhouse engineered for large-scale clearance operations. Capable of clearing up to 2,400 square metres per hour, it is built to withstand the blast of a 10kg anti-tank mine.

Its main tool is a 3-metre wide tiller or flail that digs up to 55cm deep to neutralise explosives.. The Armtrac 400 can be operated remotely from up to 1000 meters away or from its armoured cabin.

The Armtrac 75T-230: The Versatile All-Rounder

While the Armtrac 400 is built for power and large areas, the Armtrac 75T-230 stands out for its agility. Both are designed for demining, but the smaller 75T-230 can operate in places the larger machine cannot, making it ideal for various terrains and small farms and was used successfully during the UK’s Demining Programme in the Falkland Islands. Even though it is smaller, it still has many of the Armtrac 400's key features, like strength and flexibility.

The 75T-230 uses a 2.2-meter tiller to clear around 1,100 square meters per hour. After demining, it can be quickly equipped with construction tools to help rebuild infrastructure.
