Meet The Team

In addition to Armtrac’s unmanned ground vehicle manufacture permanent staff, we have an excellent short-term supply or reliable contract fitter fabricators & welders, many of whom have worked with us before. This enables us to efficiently manage our manpower workflow to keep to our lean manufacturing philosophy.

  • Stephen (Steve) Brown

    With more than 40 years’ experience as a Mechanical Design Engineer, Steve leads from the front. He has a hands-on approach & is Armtrac’s principle hydraulic engineer.

  • Corena Barrie

    As co-founder, Corena runs a ‘tight ship’ keeping a close eye on the financial goings on within Armtrac. She is also responsible for Personnel Management & recruitment to keep projects manned & moving.

  • Robin Swanson MBE

    With Robin’s experience & reputation within the British Army and as a Mine Action Consultant, he has brought a wealth of contacts to Armtrac, as well as his ‘insight’ into the finer aspects of the industry.

  • John Griffiths

    An extensive career in engineering including 10 years as managing director of his own business. John is vastly experienced in all the disciplines, from structural steel fabrication & welding to pressure vessels. He is the operational ‘go-to’ of Armtrac, managing the overall running of the workshop right through to the ISO build logs & purchasing & coordination of supplies.

  • Mike Vairy

    Mike is an Electronic Electromechanical Engineer by trade with 15 years’ experience in this field, working on numerous civil & military projects & installations throughout the world (primarily ground Radar). In addition he holds Line Management & Quality Management diplomas, working as a Quality Manager & Quality Engineer for the last 10 years. Mike is responsible for the Quality Management & Health & Safety at Armtrac Limited. He is also the Design Engineer on new products & manages the larger contracts.

  • Gary Watson

    Gary is a vastly experienced craftsman in almost all the aspects of engineering since 1977. He is experienced in the operation of all heavy manufacturing machines including plastic extrusion, spray painting, punching & lasers. He has worked in the Telecommunications industry & is also trained in chemicals. In addition Gary is proficient in administrative activities such as store management, transportation & buying. He has been the senior Fabricator at Armtrac since 2003 & is also the workshop   foreman, with a keen sense of quality administration.
