Armtrac is a British company that designs and builds mine clearance machines and tools to assist worldwide land clearance operations. Our team has many years of experience in mine detection, removal and safe disposal. We are dedicated to our mission of ongoing investment in research and design to help improve our range of professional demining machines and toolkits.
Traditional mine-clearance operations use a combination of manual, canine and demining machines to clear mines and other explosive ordnance and munitions from lands of former conflict. The land can then be returned to the local community for agricultural use or urban development.
We offer support with our range of bespoke mine clearance machines, bolt-on tool kits and equipment to help assist land clearance coordinators significantly speed up clearance operations. The time-saving benefits of using our mine clearance machines can deliver massive cost savings and help the local community get their land back quicker.
You can take a look at our full range of mine clearance machines and other products to get a better idea of how we can help speed up your clearance operations. Below we have highlighted some of our most popular mine clearance machines.
Armtrac 20T C-IED Robot Mk2 - Unmanned Ground Vehicle
For areas of neglected land that have become overgrown with scrub and are suspected of landmine contamination, we recommend the Armtrac 20T C-IED Robot Mk2 - Unmanned Ground Vehicle. This mine clearance machine makes easy work accessing ground that has become overgrown and challenging to access for a manual or canine clearance team.
This clearance machine quickly cuts through scrub and undergrowth, clearing the land with various toolkits, including a demining flail or tiller attachment. The rear robotic arm can also be fitted with tools to assist with clearing steep banked areas.
The vehicle can be fitted with a detector system and an IED disruptor for situations where you know explosive ordnance is present. The Armtrac 20T Robot is capable of performing the following roles:
- Mechanical demining where there is restricted access for larger mechanical equipment
- Mechanical Surrogate Scout for Dismounted Foot Patrols
- Small clearance operations & area reduction
- Support to C-IED operations
- Support to Route Clearance operations
- Surface/Sub-surface IED Disposal
- Technical Survey and EO Reconnaissance
- Vegetation cutting before manual or canine-assisted demining
The Armtrac 20T Mk2 is fitted with heavy-duty rubber caterpillar tracks, which can be exchanged for wider tracks to navigate softer terrain, such as sand easily. This means the vehicle can access areas other machines could not because of its compact size, lighter weight and manoeuvrability.
Armtrac 400
The Armtrac 400 packs a powerful punch with its hydraulically driven 3-meter Tiller rotor. This demining machine is ideal for breaking up the topsoil or surface substrate, as it has an effective tilling depth of 55cm.
This machine is capable of clearing 2,400 square meters per hour, depending on terrain and operator experience. It can withstand and destroy 10kg Anti-Tank mines, so it is a valuable machine for clearing access roadways across contaminated land.
The Armtrac 400 can be operated remotely from up to 800 metres away or manually operated from within its fully armoured, soundproofed & air-conditioned cabin, which can withstand NATO 7.62mm Ball at point blank range.
We can also add a unique scissor lift cab mounting on request. This will enable ride height adjustment to achieve the best possible view for your driver. The vehicle has a Telescopic Boom to which different demining toolkits can be attached to help with clearing river banks and steep inclines.
