Our Unmanned Ground Vehicles have been specifically designed to be flexible and adaptable to suit the needs of the buyer and operator. For example, we have designed, manufactured and sell a range of replaceable quick hitch tools to help with the demining process.
Our range of Unmanned Ground Vehicles (UGVs) include:
- Armtrac 20T Robot - This remote controlled Unmanned Ground Vehicle can be fitted with different toolkits, including a demining flail and rear excavator using a quick hitch attachment..
- Armtrac 75T-230 – This can be used as a Unmanned Ground Vehicle without a cabin or as a human-crewed ground vehicle with a cabin. Each version comes with a remote control system so you can operate it without a human on board. This tracked vehicle can use quick hitch engineering/construction toolkits with the telescopic boom arm, which can lift 2.7 tons.
- Armtrac 400 - A larger and more powerful version of the A75T-230. Its telescopic boom arm can operate heavy engineering and construction toolkits that lift 4 tons.
Quick hitch mine-clearing tool options
Not only have we designed and built a range of crewless ground clearance vehicles operated by remote control, but we also went back to the drawing board to create a range of bespoke toolkits to work with our vehicles.
We designed these tools to connect onto our vehicles using a quick hitch mechanism and have replaceable components, which mean you don't have to replace the whole device with a completely new one should it encounter and trigger a UXO. Instead, you simply replace the damaged component, and the change parts are easy to source no matter where you are based in the world.
Our range of toolkits include:
- Armtrac Sifter - This is designed for towing behind the Armtrac 400, 100-350 and the Armtrac 75T-230, lifting the tilled soil from a depth of 750mm. It has 12 rows of stars that turn in a spiral configuration bringing any UXO devices and debris to the surface for safe inspection and collection. The sifter contains Over Band Magnets that separate and collect ferrous metals. The sifter can process up to 5000 square metres per hour.
- Armtrac Mine Comb – This rotary mine comb carefully lifts buried objects from the soil and pushes them to the side of the path of the vehicle. Land clearance operatives can then collect debris and contain and detonate any UXOs safely.
- Armtrac Strimmer – This is an ideal toolkit to aid overgrown ground clearance in scrublands and hard to reach areas. This is especially useful for clearing steep embankments, ditches and places where a ground clearance vehicle may struggle to reach. The Strimmer has a single-flail head and can be operated horizontally and vertically with a 2-metre diameter clearance area. Used vertically, the flail has an impact force of 80 Tonnes/ square inch and can destroy any suspicious-looking objects that may conceal UXOs.
- Armtrac Roller – This roller system helps to identify victim operated devices on an intended route where there is a possibility, rather than a probability, of encountering a Victim Operated IED (VOIED). You can use the roller at speeds up to 50 KPH when fitted to the Armtrac 100. You can also use it at slower speeds with tracked Armtrac vehicles. This is a good choice for clearing vehicle access roads across the land where you are unsure if the area contains victim operated explosive devices. The roller uses two-wheel banks, each comprising of 7 rollers. The individual rollers are made from a tough, puncture-proof polyurethane composite.

When you purchase one of our unmanned ground clearance vehicles, our team at Armtrac will provide everything you need to safely and confidently operate your vehicle, including training in the use of the machinery.
Depending on your previous experience and knowledge of using demining equipment in the field, we can offer the proper length and depth of training your operatives need. Your training will also depend on the complexity of the vehicles and machinery you are purchasing.
Armtrac offers free training at our Head Office in the UK, but candidates will need to arrange their own travel, accommodation and food costs. We can also provide in-country training as part of the purchase package.
We can also arrange training for your operatives to maintain your Armtrac unmanned Ground Vehicles. We do recommend that you maintain the equipment to help deliver the best performance out in the field.
