The need for land mine clearing equipment in the modern world

The History of the World at War was in the news recently as the 100th Anniversary of the Battle of the Somme was commemorated on the 15th September 2016. The news item told us that a top secret area in Suffolk was used as a tank training ground. You can see the full article on the BBC news here: http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/p047yhx1

Countries are still at War
Unfortunately, the World is always at War in one Country or another, and the legacy of any War torn Country is its Unexploded Ordnance (UXO) including landmines, IEDs and Incendiary Devices , which are all hazards for both innocent humans and animals. Landmines, particularly anti-personnel mines, and UXO clearance is an essential part of any post conflict reconstruction operation to reduce unnecessary injuries and trauma for civilians.

The Ottawa Convention (The Mine Ban Treaty)
The Ottawa Convention prohibiting the use, stockpiling, production and transfer of anti-personnel mines signed in December 1997 was aimed at eliminating AP mines around the world. Signed by 162 State Parties, it has now been enshrined into International Humanitarian Law.

C-IED and Demining Solutions contribute to the Battle for Safety
In the constant battle to make our World a safer place, to enable people to be able to walk freely, and to help others feel safe in their own communities after the horrors of conflict, Armtrac are working with Governments to design and manufacture C-IED and Demining solutions including land mine clearing equipment and mechanical demining machines.

Land mine clearing equipment not only helps those who are still suffering the effects of War long after it has gone, but also means that those who are responsible to make UXO safe are not put at risk themselves.

Using unmanned ground vehicles and demining robots removes the need for human intervention at close range to clear landmines or other Unexploded Ordnance.

Armtrac are continually developing and evolving our demining robots and other land mine clearing equipment, to make them even safer, robust and flexible for those who operate them.
